i knew keeping all my old derby gear would come in handy, and look! props! (that’s me on the left in the bout poster. i used to be so cool) there’s something about actual skaters writing derby stories that just hit different. this is ADORABLE and the perfect amount of spooky and kooky. this middle grade graphic novel is a blast from start to finish. i love roller derby (my derby name was lisa frankenstein and i will tell anyone that will listen) and was OBSESSED with vampires as a kid, so this was right up my alley. the colors are perfect and the illustrations are so cool. the story is fun and completely relatable for the younger and older crowd alike, and it’s just a delight. it publishes in april and you need it. . .
