i listened to the audiobook of i’m the girl and genuinely sat down and didn’t move for two hours. wild and heartbreaking, i wanted to swoop in and open georgia’s eyes to what was going on. she was so focused on getting out, it was painful to see how she was treated and how easily she accepted it at first. i grew up in a small town with far too many similarities to this one, and fully understood georgia’s “anything to rise above” mentality. a tough but wonderful read that i couldn’t put down.
