ah, the old fierce-ally-to-wow-i'm-actually-super-queer pipeline! i know it well. this book hit me right in the chest in so many different ways. i was 30 when i finally came out to myself, and i went through SO many of the same emotions and discussions with myself that imogen did. it was actually so validating and kind of wild to see it written down on the page like this. i also have spent a great deal of time on the internet, some might say too much, and there are so many arguments in here that were ripped right from twitter threads that made me want to pull my hair out. it was infuriating then and it's infuriating now, but i think it worked really well to get the author's point across on how ABSURD some of the arguments about queer people being out or labeling themselves for others' comfort can sound. also, i wanted to punch a certain character in her self-righteous little face nearly every time she opened her mouth, but that's neither here nor there. imogen finding the confidenc...
