i stayed up til nearly three am to finish this because i couldn’t put it down, and my HEART.
i’ve always been a lonely person, even though i have tons of friends and family. it’s just who i am, i think. this book deals a lot with the idea of loneliness and OUCH. it got me so good. there were so many things my younger self would have related to and i just felt very seen over and it got me emotional quite a few times.
robbie is also so good at dealing with the topics of mental health in a way that doesn’t feel preachy or making it feel like a fad and it’s just so fucking cool to see it on the page. honestly imagining books like this being in my high school library makes me tear up. my friends and i would have been so validated.
anyway, this story is absolutely beautiful and it made me bake (kind of) blue velvet brownies because i loved it so much. it’s out on april 18th and i really really recommend grabbing it and crying for your younger self. 💙
