adam sass might be a wizard. this is the most perfect messy, frustrating, stunning, REAL depiction of teens wanting to fall in love that i have read in so long. i started and finished it in less than 10 hours and i cannot stop thinking about it. micah, my sweet, messy, privileged, slightly out-of-touch child just wants to find love so badly. his way of finding himself through his art while looking for a boyfriend is just so pure and relatable. i love the realizations he comes to, and it felt like something a teenager on the cusp of adulthood would absolutely be experiencing. but as much as i love micah, elliot really stole the show for me. i saw so much of myself in wlliot and it was just so rewarding watching him stand up for himself and taking care of himself first. this book spoke to my queer, fairy tale-seeking, true love-believing heart. it made me feel less alone, and i think that's such an important part of reading. one of my favorites of the year, for sure.
