COMING FALL 2025📺 Dr. Lisa Yon and the non-profit she directs, Elephant Welfare International, have developed an app to use observed behaviour and demeanour to assess the welfare of elephants under human care. Back in February, CGTN Europe went to have a look. August 12 marks World Elephant Day, an annual event dedicated to the preservation and protection of the world’s elephants in the wild. But experts want to improve the lives of elephants in captivity too. Elephant carers (such as keepers and mahouts) can use this groundbreaking app to input elephant data in real-time.
