Happy Panamanian Golden Frog Day! 💛🖤 These beautiful gold and black amphibians are actually a type of toad that walks more than it hops. Native to the highlands of Panama, they are the country's national symbol and celebrated on August 14 every year with parades, concerts and fundraising events to support golden frog conservation efforts. These important animals sadly, have not been seen in the wild for many years and are critically endangered, but hope is in sight.
