Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani and his agent are being sued by a Hawaii real estate investor and a broker. The lawsuit claims they were forced out of a $240 million luxury housing development project in Hawaii. The plaintiffs, developer Kevin J. Hayes Sr. and real estate broker Tomoko Matsumoto, brought Ohtani in as a celebrity endorser for the project. They allege that Ohtani’s agent, Nez Balelo, repeatedly demanded concessions and ultimately demanded that their business partner remove them from the deal. The suit accuses Ohtani and Balelo of “tortious interference” and “unjust enrichment”.
