Middle school students from throughout Western New York enjoyed their first rowing experience or enhanced their skills on the water with one of the nation’s best programs during our CHS Rowing Camp. Coach Jacob Filby ‘14 and President of Rowing Tom Flaherty, along with current Crusader rowers, led the instruction and coaching. Youngsters saw time on rowing machines at the home of CHS Rowing, the Buffalo Scholastic Rowing Association, and did training runs on the Buffalo River to Canalside and back. Campers gathered for the opening morning of camp got some great immediate experience as they helped carry a boat from a trailer on Ohio Street to the back of the BSRA’s Patrick Paladino Memorial Boathouse. Campers brought boats out of the boathouse each morning before bringing them back at the close of their work on the water.
