SEDA describes itself as a programmable oracle infrastructure. In blockchain, an oracle is a tool that provides external information—such as market prices, weather data, or transaction details—to smart contracts so they can function beyond their own network. According to the company, SEDA is designed to give developers a modular and permissionless framework for integrating this type of off-chain data into various blockchain environments. In February 2025, SEDA announced its Interoperability Verification Module (IVM) framework. This framework is described as a plug-and-play system for verifying cross-chain transactions, aiming to set an industry standard for verification across different blockchain platforms and virtual machine environments.
