After a conversation with steve.rackham and later _h_kirkland / raggy_media about the old #Nikon D40 I found, I thought I would give it a go this morning to see what shooting on an almost 18 year old camera was like! I decided to use all auto settings, with the exception of disabling the flash. Unlike the Nikon D7500 I'm used to, changing settings on the D40 was a lot harder and more tedious, hence my decision to use auto. One exception to this was the focus, which I did manually. I also used a relatively cheap lens (Nikon 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6 VR DX) to imitate a budget setup. My main question was seeing if by todays standards, this camera could still take decent photos. The following photos are just of random things in our back garden, and I have included a before and after so you can see the editing.
