Bois D’Arc Lake has only been open to fishing since 2024, but it’s already becoming one of the hottest big bass lakes in Texas.
An 11-year-old Texas angler caught a 10-pound largemouth in July that should set a new waterbody record on Bois d’Arc Lake. Well-known Texas bass guide Jason Conn says he and his party of three got started that day, July 31, around 7 a.m. Not long into the day, 11-year-old Caden hooked into the giant bass and hauled it in. Conn had a certified scale on his boat. (The lake has a size limit, and he always carries the scale to document his client’s fish.) Putting Caden’s fish on the scale, it weighed 10.06 pounds, large enough to set a junior waterbody record. After taking some pictures, they released the fish back into the lake.
