A state advisory warning of a harmful algal bloom expanded Wednesday to include much of the Willamette River running through Portland in what has become a common summer alert in the city. The Oregon Health Authority expanded its cyanobacteria advisory, first issued Tuesday in and around the Ross Island lagoon, north to the Wapato Bridge and Kelley Point Park. The health authority recommends staying out of the water near the bloom and keeping children or pets away.
