The Oregon Health Authority has issued an advisory to warn of a harmful algal bloom in and around the Willamette River’s Ross Island lagoon.
The bloom carrying blue-green cyanobacteria — a perennial summer problem — has spread from the lagoon to near the Ross Island Bridge, south of downtown Portland.
The Oregon Health Authority recommends staying out of the water near the bloom and keeping children or pets away.
