Good Afternoon, Friends,
🌸🐒 Why’s it called the Monkeyflower? Depends on who you ask…
Some say it looks like a monkey’s face. Others see a clown. One writer sees a spider on a rollercoaster (now that’s imagination!).
Whatever you see, the Monkeyflower is just one of Colorado’s many rare and whimsical wildflowers—and thanks to the passionate work of folks like Savanna Smith at coparkswildlife and ecologists like Mark Beardsley, we’re learning more about these unique species every day.
Colorado’s biodiversity is full of surprises, and it’s up to all of us to keep it blooming.
What do you see when you look at a Monkeyflower?
