I’ve always had a soft spot for pets and knew how important it is to also love on the ones that are dealt an unfortunate hand and look for forever homes through shelters and fosters. When I was looking for a nonprofit to support during the 2024 season, ruffstartrescuemn stood out. They have this personal, intimate approach that makes every animal feel like they matter, because they do. In April 2024, they took in a mama dog named Atheena and her twelve newborn puppies after their owner passed away. In honor of their Pablo Day partnership with the twins, each pup got a baseball-themed name… and one of them happened to be named Pablo. When I met “Pablo” the puppy, it was fate. He was one of the last three still looking for a home, he was super cuddly, totally chill, and he looked just like the pet animal he was named after.
