Today we wish our Founder, Tsahai, a happy 26th birthday.
If you’ve ever been to any of our events, you’ve probably seen her running in a million different ways trying to make sure everything is in order while still striving to meet and greet everyone with a smile. But that doesn’t touch the amount of work and time she’s put into our growing community behind the scenes for two years now. Tsahai takes this mission seriously and is usually up well after 11pm on weeknights working on social strategy, grant writing, community initiatives, and ways to address our city’s needs.
She started Free to Be Collective while struggling to find her tribe as a Black Woman with anxiety, depression, and on the spectrum. She realized there was a need for safe spaces for us to show up as we are and accessibly, because community MUST be accessible to make an impact.
