Just before 9:30 PM Wednesday night, Fresno firefighters responded to a house fire on the 3800 block of E. Madison Ave. When crews arrived the fire was heavily involved with flames consuming about 75% of the structure. They switched to a defensive attack and battled the fire from the exterior for nearly 3 hours. A nearby home was saved but the vacant house previously linked to other fires was a total loss.
