Bat Mitzvah At The Kotel! Today we had the honor of having a “Light in the Heart” Bat Mitzvah service at the Kotel - or I should say UNDER the Kotel (!) with the Western Wall Heritage Foundation. This was beyond special and something my daughter will remember for a very long time. Not only did we get to bless her in a special tunnel under the Kotel, and write letters to her future self about this moment, but she decorated candlesticks - one of which will go to a Holocaust survivor who was not able to have a Bat Mitzvah because of the war. This is such a big concept and one so important to reflect on - especially sitting so close to the Kotel in 2023. In addition to the candlestick she brought home, the @westernwall.il Foundation gifted her a beautiful Kotel necklace as a keepsake of this special day. Plus they provided more soft gel candies to throw at her which made her brothers very happy! This ceremony was the true embodiment of L’Dor V’Dor. It really made our trip to Israel about...
