Fletcher Cordell, the father of 11 year old Camp Mystic survivor received a text message at 9:30 am, hours after the flooding. The text message came from a friend, they were expressing condolences for the flooding that occurred at Camp Mystic. The camp where his precious 11 year old daughter was present. With phone lines down and no ability to call his daughter. Unaware of her safety or lack thereof, Fletcher and his brave wife got in their car and took off towards the devastation in hopes to find their daughter.
