If you’re a UK citizen and you’re traveling to the EU, here are three things that you need to know about the new EU border checks. 1️⃣ You might be required to provide biometrics. After the new EES launches, you could be asked to provide 4 fingerprints and a facial scan. 2️⃣ Not all borders will have the system straightaway, only 10% of crossing points will have them. 3️⃣ From late 2026 - most travellers coming to Europe will need to fill in an online permit called the ETIAS. It will cost €20 and last for three years, working a little bit like the US ESTA.
