Without guardrails in place, AI brings many threats to the music community. AI has the potential to dilute the music ecosystem. It could be trained using copyrighted material, and a person’s image, voice, and likeness is at risk for deepfakes and digital replicas. If there are proper protections in place, AI can grow into an expansive playground for music makers to ethically experiment with.
