Ed Young was recently announced as the new basketball coach for the Smithfield Packers.Young is the fourth high school boys basketball coach from Hampton Roads to win 500 games and the winningest basketball coach in Suffolk history. The Packers finished 20-4 last season under coach Chris Brown who departed after three seasons. Young will look to younger core of players after 10 seniors graduated.
