Jamaica’s Kishane Thompson went some way towards getting revenge on Noah Lyles on Saturday as he pipped the American to win their first 100-meter race since the Paris Olympics.
Thompson clocked in at 9.87 seconds to tie the meet record as part of the Diamond League in Silesia, Poland. Lyles finished second in 9.90 seconds, having won gold in 2024 by just five-thousandths of a second.
The pair are set to face off again at the Diamond League meet in Lausanne, Switzerland, on Wednesday, before they meet at the world championships in Tokyo next month.
