Bears have an incredible sense of smell, and the choices we make outdoors can help protect them—and us! ➡️ Never leave food, trash, or scented items unattended (even briefly). ➡️ When backpacking, store all scented items in a bear-resistant canister. ➡️ Use food storage lockers at campsites and trailheads when available. ➡️ Never keep scented items in your tent or sleeping bag. ➡️ Always lock your car—bears can open doors in search of snacks!
