LIONS CUT DOWN CHARGERS IN OPENER: The jserra.girlstennis team opened its season in strong fashion on Tuesday, as the Lions overwhelmed the Edison Chargers 17-1 in a nonleague encounter at JSerra Catholic High School. The Lions (1-0) enjoyed a perfect sweep of the singles action, winning all nine points. Senior Scarlett Vukich produced set wins of 6-2, 6-0, 6-0, sophomore Brookelyn Garcia was victorious by scores of 6-0, 6-2, 6-0, and freshman Madison Mann enjoyed a clean sweep in her debut with triumphs of 6-0, 6-0, 6-0. Junior Naomi Clarke and sophomore Isabella Geffre spearheaded doubles action on Line 1 with wins of 6-1 and 6-2. Sophomores Julianna Johnson and Ava Levitanus were victorious by scores of 6-0 and 6-1. Freshman Paisley Crutchfield and sophomore Milana Leffler swept their tandem sets with wins of 6-0, 6-0, and 6-1.
