This decision comes years after Erik and Lyle’s numerous legal attempts to gain freedom, despite receiving sentences of life without the possibility of parole in 1995 for their parents’ deaths.

After a nearly 10-hour hearing, the board rejected Erik’s parole request for another three years. He has the option to petition for an earlier hearing.
