Since 1998 New Zealand have won six of the last seven Women's Rugby World Cups and in that time only one team has ever beaten them - Ireland in 2014. It remains one of the greatest shocks in rugby history and only one of two defeats the Black Ferns have ever suffered in a World Cup (they lost to the USA in the semi-final in 1991). Ireland were almost eighteen months removed from winning the Grand Slam for the 2013 Six Nations but this victory is the one that will forever remain synonymous with that team among rugby followers. The two teams face off again in the pool stages this September with Ireland having got the better of the World Champions in Vancouver last year in a #wxv1 fixture.... could the 2025 Irish team do the unthinkable and beat the All Blacks once again? #wrwc
