George Hogg arrived in China in 1938, as the country stood alone against brutal Japanese aggression. A British Oxford graduate, he came as a traveller — but stayed as a witness, an ally, and ultimately, a hero.
He saw the war up close: the devastation, the resistance, the courage of the Chinese people. He stood by them until the very end, losing his life just months before victory.
Hogg is remembered in China, but nearly forgotten in the West. A CGTN documentary, coming soon on August 26, 2025.
