On Saturday, June 26th, @Lachlanmorton (who races for @efprocycling ) set out on a quest to ride the 21 stages of the 2021 Tour de France, including the transfers with the hopes to beat the Peloton to Paris. After 18 days, 225 hours of riding time, 3,424 total miles, and 219,262 feet of climbing, Lachlan achieved his goal, but it was not with many difficulties along the way and a lot of mental fortitude. Paying homage to the original Tour, Lachlan was self-supported. He camped along the side of roads, battled weather and ate what he could find along the way. He took treats from generous fans who followed his GPS location and accompanied him for miles. Early into his ride, Lachlan switched from road shoes to grocery store sandals and flat pedals to solve a painful knee injury. He dug deep despite discomfort and got ahead by 5 days!
