Ruth Asawa's daughters Aiko Cuneo and Addie Lanier spent time reforming Asawa's looped-wire sculptures with our Conservation Team before the opening of "Ruth Asawa: Retrospective." Aiko, Addie, and our conservator Natalya honor Asawa's legacy by carefully using various tools (including wooden chopsticks) to re-form the small wire loops on "Untitled (S.433 Hanging Nine Open Hyperbolic Shapes Joined Laterally)" (ca. 1958). Curious about the re-forming process? Keep an eye on our account for more information to come! Experience Ruth Asawa's life through art. "Ruth Asawa: Retrospective" open now. 📍 Floor 4 #RuthAsawa #SFMOMA #ArtConservation [Ruth Asawa, Untitled (S.433, Hanging Nine Open Hyperbolic Shapes Joined Laterally), ca. 1958; William Roth Estate; © 2025 Ruth Asawa Lanier, Inc., courtesy David Zwirner; photo: Dyemond Dye]
