On a cold but sunny Saturday, 35 MUDEC students took a day trip to Bouillon, Belgium. This Discovery Tour took students two hours northwest to reach the valley town of Bouillon. The students got an audio tour of the 8th century castle, which painted a picture of what life was like during this time. They walked through eerie passageways under the castle that were once used for storage, escape, and imprisonment. Being perched on top of a hill, the castle provided beautiful panoramic views of the town below. The entrance ticket also granted access to the Medieval Experience, which is an audio and visual expierence to learn about The Crusades. Students had free time to walk around Bouillon, get lunch, and try Belgian chocolate and/or waffles! On the way back to Luxembourg, the group made a quick stop at The Giant’s Tomb, which is a viewpoint that overlooks a river bend and patch of trees that resemble a giant tomb.
