James Brown has one of the most essential — yet overlooked jobs in health care.⁠ ⁠ Brown delivers nearly every towel, gown, sheet, and pillowcase at Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital. The dedicated essential worker has done it with the same cart, the same route and the same unwavering dedication for half a century - starting in August 1975.⁠ ⁠ This year marks his 50th on the job.⁠ ⁠ “I like walking around the hospital – seeing different faces every day,” Brown said. “I work every holiday, every weekend.
