Seniors graduate on Monday, which means it’s the perfect time for another Senior Spotlight!
Caitlin (she/they) is an English major with a creative writing focus from Thousand Oaks, California. Her thesis is a short story collection that reflects on the emotional growing pains of young adulthood and how the constant formation and revision of identity influences interpersonal relationships. Readers can expect double crosses, torments, a would-be Lothario, bees, and so much more. Caitlin also wrote a critical afterword to accompany her prose, in which she details her undying love of the coming-of-age literary genre and the inspiration she takes from realistic fiction mavens like Alice Munro.
Caitlin’s thesis adviser is Professor of Creative Writing Pete Rock, whose creative perspective has been instrumental in her development as a reader and writer.
