Reed students sit on the Great Lawn in 1945 and 2021, 76 years apart.
You’ll often hear the saying, “Olde Reed is dead!” on campus. It refers to the belief that the Reed of today isn’t the Reed of 50 years ago, the Reed of a decade ago, or the Reed of last week. Students are constantly striving to be the best version of themselves. To do that, Reedies have to make change: rejecting the Olde Reed of yesterday, for the Reed of today.
