The Miners win! ⛏️ Sussex County beat the New Jersey Jackals, 7-4, for the second night in a row at historic Hinchliffe Stadium. The Miners’ magic number for a playoff berth is now two. Miner of the Game Abdel Guadalupe (pictured) recorded five of the Miners’ 11 hits on the night. The designated hitter also drove in two runs and is now hitting .273 on the season. Center fielder Dom Johnson extended his 16-game hitting streak and finished the night with two hits, two runs scored, and two walks. Right fielder Alec Sayre went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI. Third baseman Sean Roby Jr. collected two hits, a run scored, and an RBI. Left fielder Jordan Smith scored a run and drove in two. Starting pitcher Tyler Thornton (W, 8-3, 4.50 ERA) earned his eighth win, allowing only one earned run on six hits and striking out three.
