The Miners win! ⛏️ Sussex County defeated the New Jersey Jackals, 7-4, in the first game of the three-game series at historic hinchliffestadium. The Miners’ magic number for a playoff berth is now four. Miner of the Game Alec Sayre collected four of the Miners’ 15 hits on the night. The right fielder also scored a run and drove in another. Third baseman Sean Roby Jr. (pictured) knocked in three runs. Center fielder Dom Johnson, first baseman Abdel Guadalupe, and catcher Keenan O’Brien all went 2-for-4. Starting pitcher Jackson Balzan (W, 7-6, 4.22 ERA) earned his seventh win with a gutsy six-inning performance. Balzan allowed four runs on nine hits while fanning four.
