The Miners win! ⛏️ Sussex County defeated the Joliet Slammers, 10-2, in the back end of the doubleheader to win the series at Skylands Stadium. The Miners reached 50 wins on the season and now lead the New York Boulders by 4 1/2 games in the Atlantic Conference East Division. Miner of the Game Dom Johnson was perfect at the plate, going 3-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBI. The center fielder passed Miners legend Martin Figueroa on the all-time franchise triples list with his 13th three-bagger in the bottom of the sixth. Second baseman Hunter D’Amato also went 3-for-3, scoring three times and walking once. Left fielder Jordan Smith smacked his fifth home run of the season. Right fielder Alec Sayre collected a pair of hits and RBI. Designated hitter Abdel Guadalupe drove in two. Newcomer Scott Seeker picked up his first professional hit and RBI.
