“your marriage is safe, stop worrying …” i wish that were always true. last night i got to hear directly from two lawyers who helped argue the obergefell case—the reason i get to call my husband my husband. hearing them speak in tennessee, in 2025, was a reminder of both how fragile and how resilient our rights are. no court gives my marriage meaning—that comes from the love we build every day. but it’s also never fun to think about what could be taken away if the wrong chip falls. what heartens me most is the type of community that comes together in these wild times. thank you tnpridechamber for hosting, and to everyone fighting for a future where we don’t have to wonder if our love is safe.
