As the two major political parties enter the last sprint to the September 3 general elections, Comrades have filled the streets of the Mandeville town centre for a mass rally as the People’s National Party makes a bold attempt to retake Manchester Central after the shock defeat of Peter Bunting in the 2020 elections. It was the scene of the announcement of the 2011 general elections called by the Prime Minister Andrew Holness, which the Jamaica Labour Party would go on to lose.
