More than 2.8 million people now identify as transgender in the US, including an estimated 724,000 youth, according to a new data analysis by the UCLA's Williams Institute. The research found that 2.8 million people aged 13+ identify as transgender in the US, or 1.0% of those aged 13 and older. Among US adults, 0.8% (over 2.1 million people) identify as transgender.
