Guy Pearce and Stephan Elliott, the director of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, have paid tribute to Terrence Stamp. The Oscar-nominated actor best known for his role in queer classic Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, died on Sunday 17 August at the age of 87. “He leaves behind an extraordinary body of work, both as an actor and as a writer that will continue to touch and inspire people for years to come,” his family said in a statement. “Fairwell dear Tel,” Pearce wrote. “You were a true inspiration, both in & out of heels. We’ll always have Kings Canyon, Kings road & F’ing ABBA.
