Emma Raducanu advanced to the second round of the US Open on Sunday for the first time since she won the women's singles at Flushing Meadows in 2021.
The British No. 1 defeated Japanese qualifier Ena Shibahara 6-1, 6-2 in just 62 minutes at the Louis Armstrong Stadium.
The victory will go some way to avenging the memory of her first-round defeats to Alize Cornet and Sofia Kenin, as well as her withdrawal from the tournament due to injury in 2023.
