LOUIS VUITTON SS26: LOUD, BUT NOT LASTING
The Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2026 menswear show has wrapped. Was it fashionable? Yes. Will it stand the test of time? Unlikely.
Pharrell’s era at the brand will be remembered because of his name, not the design. He wasn’t hired to innovate fashion—he’s a cultural figure, not a designer by trade.
The collection was large and varied: classic tailoring, casual looks, streetwear, and more. Accessories, particularly bags and trunks, took centre stage as expected.
But remove the logos and signature styling—can you still recognise it as Louis Vuitton? That’s the real question. The collection wasn’t a failure, but it lacked a clear identity. The brand’s recognition relies more on image and marketing than on creative direction.
