Many people may buy and use this filter without knowing exactly what it does! This filter creates a soft quality of light especially in the highlights. It reduces the contrast to give a more flat and soft image and it adds a lot of style and character to a photo. I keep the strength of my filter at 1/4 because it gives a nice balance of diffusion and sharpness. Some people may choose to use a 1 strength for a ton of diffusion and others can go down to 1/8 for a subtle effect!
