Hello! I’m Michelle Young michelleyoungwriter, the author of the new book The Art Spy! I’m so excited to take over this account today. It’s so great to meet all of you! Tell me if you’re like me—I don’t actually work in an office space! I wrote The Art Spy predominantly at…the dining table. Either at my house in Brooklyn or the dining table in a very old house in the Berkshires, MA. I don’t like to be hemmed in when I’m writing and need to have a kind of open vista, even if it’s just a view of the oven! I also spread out, A LOT, which makes breakfasts a bit complicated sometimes with my two young girls. Where do you work or do your writing? The table in MA is made out of an old door and the house—where Babe Ruth used to stay to go deer hunting—still has parts of a printing press that used to be in the attic.
