Last night I had the honor to recognize one of the OG’s of Bananaland, martyjones607 as he gracefully retired from service as one of the_man_nanas for thesavbananas , a role he has played on our cast since 2018. Marty is one of the original members of our Dad Bod Cheer Squad and for many years served essentially as the face of the group, being highlighted in news articles and interviews all around Savannah. He has always been committed to our fans first philosophy, and we all have countless memories of how Marty always lifted our spirits and made our lives better. Marty’s contributions to the growth of our organization cannot be overstated. This team went from a small, collegiate summer league team into a worldwide phenomenon, and without our kooky cast of characters to help round out the fan experience over all these years of growth, I don’t believe we’d get here because we would have just been another baseball team.
