Wow. What a roller coaster. Jenny and I finished off our rowing careers with an 8th place at the Games. God this was not the result we wanted at all, as all year we trained with the belief we could podium. But in a twisted way our final race made up for a week of not our best showing, and a result I’m so proud of. We were beyond devastated with our performances that led us in the b final, and we knew it wasn’t our good shit. We felt like failures, like we had ruined 3 years of incredible training, and would have nothing to show for our improvements.
But between that emotional interview of ours going wild (like Prime Minister Trudeau commented…what world is this), and some tough conversations between us and Jer, we knew we had to reset and deliver the best performance we’ve done yet.
