It’s officially official! ✅ Sport Canada’s AAP carding policy update for pregnancy is now live, bringing greater protection for pregnant and postpartum athletes. 👶🏽 Under this new update, pregnant athletes can access a Health Card without it counting against their sport’s quota. That means you won’t lose funding, or future eligibility, just for starting a family. It’s a major shift toward recognizing motherhood as part of athlete development, not a detour from it. 🧠 This policy change was informed by the powerful research and advocacy of Dr. Margie Davenport and Dr. Tara-Leigh McHugh.
