20 years ago today. August 27, 2005 is a day that many along the Gulf Coast will never forget. Hurricane Katrina’s track suddenly shifted nearly 200 miles in 12 hours pivoting the storm’s track from Florida to Louisiana/Mississippi. It was about to fuel Katrina’s intensification into a life-threatening Category 5 hurricane.
